Add an Oriental touch to your Sundays with the dim sum brunch at ITC Sheraton
It can be a crispy snack surprise, a healthy bite for between meal hunger pangs or a heart-touching accompaniment with the lazy afternoon tea. This is the versatile dim sum, a traditional Chinese delicacy that includes a variety of dumplings, steamed dishes and other goodies. But that's tradition. What about trying a dim sum that tastes like a French cheese basket or a miniature vegetable pattie?
Oriental treat
At the ITC Sheraton Hotel's Pan Asian restaurant, master chef Peng from China's Sichuan province, known for its hot-and-spicy treats, believes in doing magic with his dim sums. "Traditional dim sums are good but people are bored of them. I want them to try my magical treats," says the charming young chef, as he lays out the dim sum special Sunday brunch.
Start with the barbecued chicken money bag crispy, fried morsels of delight that leave a tingling sweet and sour barbeque flavour after the soft chicken has long gone. You will surely fall for its European taste.
French connection
Another must-try is the prawn wasabi dumpling, served with a white sauce that turns the traditional pungent wasabi (the one that you have with sushi) into a lip-smacking dip with mayonnaise. This is one French-Chinese fusion we don't mind!
The brunch offers vegetable dishes and Mongolian platters, too.
Wash it all down with glasses of sparkling wine.
